INVESTING IN SKI COUNTRY
As part of a strategic acquisitions plan, Brinkman acquired a significant retail/office center in Steamboat Springs off Highway 40 and Pine Grove Road. The 67,000 SF property, Sundance Plaza is in a prime location between the downtown corridor and the popular Steamboat ski resort. Anchor tenants of the property include Starbucks, Sherwin Williams, Fiesta Jalisco and The Egg & I, along with smaller office users.
The property was purchased by Brinkman from local owners AlpenGlow Ventures who originally purchased the property in 2002 and completed an extensive restoration shortly thereafter. These notable improvements were essential to Brinkman’s desire to acquire the center which was originally built in 1970.
This acquisition was a good fit for Brinkman's portfolio in that the company has worked in the Steamboat Springs community for many years, including developing Skiview, an apartment community located near the ski area base.
Upon acquisition of this property, there were several vacant units so Brinkman committed to providing assistance with build-out to secure the right tenants that would further strengthen the Steamboat business community.
