Meeting a Need in the Marketplace

The Mason Street Flats project was born out of the need for rental product in Fort Collins after the economic crisis of 2008. With the contraction of the credit markets, less people were able to purchase and the rental vacancy rate moved into an all-time low. Brinkman saw this as an opportunity to fill a need in the community by purchasing and developing a plot of land that was sitting dormant for 24 months.

Through extensive market research, feasibility and financial analysis, Brinkman demonstrated the positive fiscal impact of this project to the Downtown Development Authority, successfully garnering Tax Increment Financing to make Mason Street Flats a reality.
