New Fort Collins doughnut shop uses robot to help make breakfast treats
While living in the Pacific Northwest, Megan Barghols learned an important philosophy.
“Coffee and doughnuts are life,” she said with a smile. “It is a big part of the culture there.”
Now Barghols has taken that idea to Old Town Fort Collins, opening Fort Collins Donut Company — a.k.a. FoCo DoCo — at 234 N. College Ave. this week. A full grand opening celebration is planned for Friday.
The accomplished chef uses a doughnut-making robot to fry the tennis ball-sized treats in sunflower oil.
