Job Opening – Maintenance Technician


Position Summary:

Reports To:  Director of Real Estate Management

Position Type & Expected Work Hours:  This is a full-time position requiring on-call availability, occasional evening, weekend and holiday hours, as job duties demand.

Location:    Northern Colorado

Essential Functions:

  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and property management team by upholding Brinkman’s mission and core values.
  • Responsible for maintaining the appearance and working order of interiors, exteriors, common areas, and systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roof, lighting, controlled access systems, etc.
  • Work directly with tenants and team members to diagnose, assess, and perform repairs and maintenance, and schedule third-party providers for major repairs and maintenance.
  • Daily property walks, trash pick-up, weeding, grounds keeping, repairs and maintenance, moving of heavy equipment.
  • Support 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights, weekends & holidays.
  • Unit make-ready duties including inspection, repairs, scheduling vendors and final walk.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance of third-party vendors.
  • Daily use of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Oversee and manage mechanics, technicians, and outside contractors on assigned projects, and management of warranty matters with the construction general contractor and subcontractor.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and property management team by upholding Brinkman’s mission and core values.

 Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • 2+ years of multifamily maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting in construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, solving problems professionally and independently.
  • Knowledge and application of building codes, laws and regulations.
  • Experience using computer and smartphone/tablet systems to manage and track service tickets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience maintaining and tracking service tickets using property management software.  Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Professional, responsible, diligent, and self-motivated.
  • Must have one’s own basic hand tools.
  • Current driver’s license and valid for the past consecutive 12 months.
  • Acceptable Background Check and Motor Vehicle Record per company standards.

 Education/Certification Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • HVAC, EPA 608 and CPO certifications preferred.
